More information

This Plaque honours the memory of the Fallen Comrades of the members of the Returned and Services League West Perth, Public Service, Press and Highgate Sub-Branches.

The members of the Highgate Sub-Branch dedicated this Plaque on 7 November 2021 in the year of the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the West Perth Sub-Branch. The West Perth Sub-Branch was chartered by the WA State Branch of the Returned Sailors and Soldiers’ Imperial League on 1 July 1921. On 6 November 1943, the Sub-Branch’s name was changed to the Public Service Sub-Branch and a merge with the Press Sub-Branch occurred on 21 March 1973 with the Public Service name retained. On 1 January 1976, the Public Service Sub-Branch merged with the Highgate Sub-Branch (chartered on 2 August 1947) with the Highgate name retained.

To honour the fallen and to assist their families, for over 100 years some members from these Sub-Branches, along with other volunteers, have assisted with the task of Kings Park Honour Avenues plaques' maintenance with support work which commenced in November 1922.

The Fallen Comrades of the members of the West Perth, Public Service, Press and Highgate Returned and Services League Sub-Branches are remembered with honour.
