Biography abstract:

James Sinclair McGibbon (10/8/1875 - 8/11/1943) was born in Kew, Victoria and started out as a warehouseman.

He turned his hand to accountancy, working with Gilmour and McGibbon until moving to Perth in 1896.

In 1898, Mr McGibbon established his own accountancy practise and made a failed attempt to enter Parliament.

The Western Australian Consultancy Council (National Union), which sought to raise funds in trust to combat communism and lawlessness, was formed in 1925 and Mr McGibbon shortly became its chairman.

He was president of the Perth Rotary Club (1927-28) and was a director of Rotary International.

His favourite recreation was tennis and he joined the Kings Park Tennis Club in 1903. He was its president from 1924 to 1938 and life member of the WA Tennis Association from 1926.

Mr James McGibbon was a member of the Centenary Committee (Recreation and Amusements group) in 1929.
