Biography abstract:
Mr (Charles) Frank Marden (29/9/1888 - 24/8/1984) was born in St Kilda, Melbourne and was involved with developing Australia's film industry from its inception.
He was theatre director for Union Theatres and came to Perth to set up the Ambassadors Theatre. In that time, this included the theatre building for a film screen and an orchestra pit for music to accompany the film 'for atmospheric effect'.
In 1929, he was working for the Australian Broadcasting Commiission supplying national programmes for the Commonwealth Government.
He died aged 95 in Crescent Head, New South Wales after a long career in broadcasting across Australia.
He was known to enjoy golf, tennis and swimming for recreation.
Mr Frank Marden and was a member of Western Australian Centenary Committee (Publicity group) in 1929.
