Biography abstract:
William Henry Kitson (20/11/1886 -13/12/1952) was born and educated in Leeds, England.
He came to WA in 1910 and worked on land near Albany until 1914.
He moved to Fremantle in 1915 and worked as a draper and then a secretary for the Clerks Union.
He was a Labor party member of the Legislative Council of WA 1924-47, Minister Police and Chief Secretary 1937-39, Education 1939-43.
He was also on the Rottnest Island Board of Control 1925 and a life member of the East Fremantle football club.
He served as the Agent General for WA in London from May 1947 until his death in December 1952.
The Hon. William Henry Kitson, MLC was Minister for Fisheries in 1929 during the Western Australia Centenary celebrations.
