Volunteer
Hundreds of Western Australians generously give their time in a variety of volunteer roles in Kings Park. They help to care for the natural environment, welcome visitors, advance science and preserve Western Australian history.
The Honour Avenues Group care for the many plaques in Kings Park dedicated to fallen Western Australian servicemen and women. Many of our members have served in the Australian Defence Force or are members of the Returned and Services League (RSLWA).
There are a variety of roles for you to consider either in the office, in the workshop or out in the field. We welcome anyone with an interest in the Honour Avenues, their upkeep and their history.
Donate
The Honour Avenue Group is responsible for processing applications for the plaques, manufacture and maintenance of the plaques, together with their posts and distinguishing colour patches and for coordinating dedication services and events. We rely heavily on grants and donations to achieve our tasks and maintain the plaques at the highest level. We are strongly supported by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority with thanks.
If you would like to donate to our cause or consider a bequest in your will to leave a permanent legacy to Western Australia, we encourage you to get in touch.
Photographs and stories
Our team are constantly researching and uncovering fascinating new insights into the backgrounds of these fallen service personnel. If you or your family have any photographs of past dedications or history relevant to current plaques, we would love to hear from you and include them here on this website.
Future direction
It's an exciting time to become involved with our Group. Our researchers are busily researching biographies and identifying links between the plaques and the State War Memorial to celebrate our Western Australian history.
