Plaques are added to Kings Park's Honour Avenues during regular dedication services held at May Circle (the site of the initial dedication in 1919). Details of some of the recent ceremonies are provided below. You may be interested in how to apply for a plaque.
8 June 2024
Eight plaques were dedicated during a service held at the Wanju Mar volunteer hub on 8 June 2024. Plaques were presented by Sue McDougall, Director BGPA and Robin Slater of the Honour Avenues Group:
- Ivan Leach accepted the plaque as nephew of Corporal Clive Leach
- Kenneth Birch accepted the plaque as the nephew of Private Ronald Birch.
- Julie Porrins accepted the plaque as the niece of Private Charles Boyes.
- Meredith McDermont accepted the plaque as the great niece of Private Frederick Burgess.
- Julie Zuvela accepted the plaque as the great niece of Private Reginald Falkner.
- Brooke Bowman accepted the plaque as the great granddaughter of Private Arthur Lehey.
- David Hancock accepted the plaque as the great nephew of Private Joseph Date.
- Kerry O’Neil accepted the plaque as the nephew of Private George Stone.

- Plaques for Trooper Herbert Alexander Bell and Private William Leslie Stuart Mill were rededicated by members of the Honour Avenues Group.
- The Governor of Western Australia, the Honourable Chris Dawson, accepted the plaque of his relative Captain Frank Smith at a special ceremony during a Highgate RSL function in Kings Park on 11 November 2022.
